ICON LAUNCHES NEW SITE FOR PENTASTAR AVIATION
Site Features Video Bubbles, ICON’s content management system

Ann Arbor , Michigan – ICON Creative Technologies Group has launched an all-new website for Waterford-based Pentastar Aviation. The site features a series of technical innovations, including video “bubbles” allowing the end user to see the full scope of Pentastar’s operations. “Pentastar has a truly impressive operation at the Pontiac airport facility. Massive hangars, an all-new customer center and a giant ramp just don’t translate well in still pictures. We recommended these video bubbles to help people feel the true grandeur of their facilities,” says Rob Cleveland, president of ICON Creative Technologies Group.

The new Pentastar site also uses ICON’s content management system, iCMS, with advanced features including a browser-based WSYWIG editor, navigation controls and page-management tools. The iCMS toolset puts the power of web publishing in the hands of Pentastar personnel, letting specific managers from their different business units develop, edit and post content to the site.

ICON used Flash on the site front page to illustrate key messages and carry branding themes that are used in other marketing materials. But while Flash is used to introduce these themes, it is not used as a Flash introduction component but rather an isolated element on the front page. This allows repeat users to quickly drill into the appropriate content without impediment.
